Relive Macklemore’s Bumbershoot 2011 performance through the eyes of his dancers, The Macklorettes.

Monster is a study of various “monsters” many of us encounter in our lives: addiction; tempestuous or abusive Relationships; and an intolerant Society. See the award winning choreography of Whim W’Him as they face these “monsters” at Bumbershoot 2011

Spectrum Dance Theater will be moving audiences with an array of performances including pieces from current and past works. The Spectrum Dance Theater and guest artists will be presenting contemporary dance and the work of Artistic Director and 2011 Mayor’s Arts Award winner Donald Byrd. See Lola and Blossom, from the recent The Variety Show; M.I.A., Tantric Voices (choreographed by Thaddeus Davis), and a surprise piece, special for the festival at Bumbershoot 2011.

Bumbershoot Alumni Update: We KNOW they can dance!


Last year AXIS Dance Company performed in the Bagely Wright Theatre at Bumbershoot 2010.  Tonight they will be showing off their moves on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance. 


AXIS’s dancers Sonsherée Giles and Rodney Bell will perform an excerpt of choreographer Alex Ketley’s Isadora Duncan Award winning duet To Color Me Different.
