Robert Glasper Experiment // Smells Like Teen Spirit ft Lalah Hathaway

This is pretty jarring. And pretty great.

Played 9 times.

LP has already shown a knack for covers and her new video for ”The Widow” (originally by The Mars Volta) is no exception.

Hear Best Coast cover Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 smash “Rhiannon” on a forthcoming tribute album — a task which clearly requires quite a bit of reverence, to the point where singer Bethany Cosentino even channels Stevie Nicks’ warbling rasp.’

Well this is great.

Agreed.

City and Colour - “Settle Down” (Kimbra cover)

City and Colour’s Dallas Green takes a softer, but no less soulful approach to Kimbra’s bouncy original for Triple J’s Like a Version.

Gotye may have bumped fun. off the top of the charts, but they clearly don’t mind. We also don’t mind mentioning that Paramore played the Mainstage back in 2008, and that’s where Gotye will be this year. Full circle!

Kickass Cover of the Day: If you listen to one cover of Gotye’s chart-topper “Somebody That I Used To Know” today (other than this onethis onethis onethis one, or this one), make it fun.’s lovely rendition of the song for BBC Radio One, with Paramore’s Hayley Williams singing the Kimbra part.

Ironically, all these covers of “Somebody” have elevated the song to the number one spot on the iTunes charts, displacing fun.’s big hit, “We Are Young.”

Reignwolf - The Chain (Fleetwood Mac cover)

Armed with nothing more than two guitars (one of which he doesn’t even play!) and a kick drum, the one-man wrecking crew known as Reignwolf reinvents a Fleetwood Mac classic live on KEXP. Love that smoke machine, too.
