This morning, Fun. performed on NBC’s Today Show live from Seaside Heights, New Jersey to celebrate the reopening of the famed boardwalk. Guitarist, Jack Antonoff, is no stranger to the Jersey Shore, having grown up in Long Beach Island. He gave the Today Show a tour of some of his favorite places in the video above. “Through Eyes and Glass’ was our first original recorded song. It came out on the Topaz label in 1968, and only sold a handful of copies, but it was the start of our career. We recorded this in a tiny studio in downtown Seattle under the Monorail. It may as well have been Abbey Road, because we’d never been in any recording studio before. The session came about because we were helping my friend Chris Blaine with a country band. That band only had a few songs, and there was a little time left in the day they’d booked, so we cut three covers, and snuck in this original song of our own”. -AW

Another group had a hit with this tune,though it was written by Chris White of the Zombies while the band was in disarray, and putting together their now all-time classic “Odessey and Oracle” album.
The original Zombies track, now an obscurity, was really something, and much better. This is the single mix and sounds great.
