Still stuck in our heads. Still not complaining.

The Scream

The Scream

The man meets the meme in Gotye’s self-made (!) “YouTube Orchestra” version of his ubiquitous hit “Somebody I Used to Know”. Dubbed “Somebodies”, it’s a remarkable mashup that breathes new life into the song.

When Yeasayer remixes Gotye, you’d expect it to be pretty spacey and just a little weird. “Eyes Wide Open” is both and we’re digging it.

Gotye follows up the smash hit “Somebody I Used to Know” with an animated video for the low-key jam “Save Me”.

Gotye Video of the Day: It’s the video for “Somebody That I Used To Know,” re-enacted by the most famous memes on the Internets.

Next up, “Call Me Maybe” and “We Are Young.”

Gotye may have bumped fun. off the top of the charts, but they clearly don’t mind. We also don’t mind mentioning that Paramore played the Mainstage back in 2008, and that’s where Gotye will be this year. Full circle!

Kickass Cover of the Day: If you listen to one cover of Gotye’s chart-topper “Somebody That I Used To Know” today (other than this onethis onethis onethis one, or this one), make it fun.’s lovely rendition of the song for BBC Radio One, with Paramore’s Hayley Williams singing the Kimbra part.

Ironically, all these covers of “Somebody” have elevated the song to the number one spot on the iTunes charts, displacing fun.’s big hit, “We Are Young.”
