In August last year Baroness’ bus crashed off a bridge, seriously injuring band members and crew. A month later Jason “Loopy” Lupietuu (Baroness’ sound engineer), Rennie Jaffe (Manager of Relapse Records) and Nath Cöre (Baroness’ webmaster) set out as friends of the band to do whatever we could to alleviate the band of their medical expenses and loss of income in their time of pain and journey back to health and being able to play again. We reached out to our close friends, to donate items so we could auction them off to relieve the band of as much financial hurt as possible. All proceeds will be given directly to the band and will not line the pockets of anyone involved. We are not here to make a profit from this fundraiser. It has taken awhile to setup, but we now have all of the items listed for auction. If there is no eBay links in there, they will be there shortly and announced soon.So please join us on Facebook and Twitter, please tell your friends and family who may be interested and stay tuned! We thank each and every band for their help and donations and appreciate it to no end. We all can’t wait to see our friends in Baroness relieved of burden in every way possible. Many thanks, - Baroness Relief crew. (Nath, Jason & Rennie)

I’ve been working on The Bumbershoot Project now for a little over a week and I’m already impressed with the span of talent that will perform at this year’s festival. If you have five minutes, and you’re planning on going to Bumbershoot this year, mosey on over.
At least read about an artist that goes by “The Screaming Eagle of Soul” because that’s incredible in it’s own way.
We need to step up our game over here on Tumblrshoot, because The Bumbershoot Project is doing yeoman’s work. Follow that blog!
The new video for Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe”.
Superchunk’s new album I Hate Music arrives just a few days before Bumbershoot. Watch the trailer. Get excited.
Inside the dirty little mind of Kendrick Lamar: Wunderkind rapper, radiant dreamer, gangsta avoider, groupie evader, freshly anointed poet-laureate of South Central Los Angeles, and deliverer of hip-hop’s message of the moment.
We’re really excited to have Kendrick back at Bumbershoot this year.
Matt and Kim. Fader Fort SXSW 2013.
Get out the apps and zerts because we are ready to celebrate! Parks and Rec is coming back for Season 6!
Surely this will give the writers even more to talk about when they visit Bumbershoot’s Words & Ideas Stage. Also, yay!
We might have put Microcastle’s “Nothing Ever Happened” on this list, but otherwise this seems like a pretty good summation of Deerhunter’s catalog.
So I meticulously made a list of most of the bands that are going to be at Bumbershoot. This is one of the ones I discovered that I liked. (Ivan & Aloysha will be playing Monday, Sept. 2nd)
Anyone else made similar discoveries since the music lineup was revealed last week?
