Before Drake and Mary J. Blige took the stage together at the Video Music Awards, the Bumbershoot Programming department had already paired these two talented artists for the Festival’s Monday Mainstage show. As part of the Sounds Human exhibit at Bumbershoot, Seattle-based artist Trimpin set up his old Apple laptops to play percussion for a multitude of songs.

Jonathan Brilliant created The Bumbershoot Piece entirely out of coffee stir sticks, held together only by tension, on-site in the days leading up to the Festival.
Watch this time-lapse video of the entire installation (plus a little bit of sight-seeing) to get a sense of just how much work went into creating this piece specifically for the Festival.

The Physics put on an amazing show on Sunday at the EMP Sky Church, check out their performance of “I Just Wanna Beat” now via offpageradio.
